For some of us, Valentine’s Day is a truly special time to spend with the love of our lives. For others, it’s just a kooky day bursting with chocolate candies and pink hearts galore. No matter how you view Valentine’s Day, it is definitely a good excuse to get out and have some fun with the friends, family or partner you love. In Phoenix, there are plenty of events that are packed with love and amusement to choose from this Valentine’s Day, although we are particularly excited about the best things to hear this year. 1. - Art Leboe Valentine’s Super Love Jam – Talking Stick Resort – February 16^th, 7:30pm.
    The Talking Stick Resort is hosting an “old school” love jam concert featuring some of your favorite artists from the 70s and 80s. Amongst the impressive lineup will be The Delfonics, Blue Magic, original members of The Jets, and Evelyn “Champagne” King. 1. - Cinderella – Ballet Arizona – Symphony Hall – February 15^th-18^th, performance times vary.
    Ballet Arizona is showcasing a select number of performances of Cinderella, especially for Valentine’s Day. Step into the pages of a magical fairytale with this spectacular performance of a classic “happily ever after” story. The romantic tale will come to life with vibrant performances from Ballet Arizona’s talented dancers accompanied by the world renowned Phoenix Symphony. 1. - Carnival of Illusion – Mesa, Tempe & Phoenix Arts Centers – February 10^th – May 13^th, performance times vary.
    Carnival of Illusion is a fun-filled evening of magic, music and travel-themed trickeries. This theatre show is Vaudeville-inspired and includes storylines, humor, and lots of great illusions – sure to leave you and your love wondering, “how did they do that?” The boutique and intimate nature of the theatre allows for great audience participation, however, the compact space also means shows sell out rather quickly, so get your tickets ASAP. 1. - Valentine’s Blues Celebration – The Rhythm Room – February 10^th, doors open at 7pm.
    Have fun and give back at The Rhythm Room this Valentine’s Day. All proceeds from the Blues Celebration will benefit the HART (Handy Artists Relief Trust) fund. This fund aims to support blues artists and their families when struggling with a wide range of chronic health conditions, as well as funeral and burial costs. Many local blues favorites are in the lineup, including Kim Wilson, Sugaray Rayford, the Andy T Band and Phil Pemberton. Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance and $20 at the door. - 2^nd Friday Night Out Block Party – Downtown Mesa – February 9^th, 6pm.
  This kid-friendly and dog-friendly night out is the perfect way to spend the weekend before Valentine’s Day. The month’s theme is “Swingin’ Sweethearts” and will feature live bands blasting swing favorites. Accompanying the music will be a swing contest, as well as a free swing-dancing lesson at 8pm! Other attractions include Valentine’s Day card making, 50+ artist booths featuring original artwork, and lots of delicious options for dinner.
